Just to be nerdy, we do see Donny bowling, "Throwing Rocks tonight, mark it dude" while the Dude is talking to Walter about the rug at the beginning of the film. Also, there would never be a two man bowling team. And the Stranger also interacts with Gary the bartender. He does appear to be an omnipresent narrator otherwise.
