I have to applaud Lauren for being so open, vulnerable, and authentic with this podcast. Admittedly I was squirming many times throughout listening to all of them, I really wanted to discredit and mock some of this stuff. That has to do with me and my head however. Ultimately Lauren beliefs and life are her own, this gives her a way to focus and direct herself and who am I to argue with her success and hilarity and the benefit to her life. No one is harmed. This was an enjoyable listen. I appreciate the bravery of putting out a non comedy podcast that really explores an aspect of her own life.

While I applaud the bravery it takes to do something like this, I wish she were more critical in her approach. For example when she mentions how the Tarot card woman was mesmerizing in her voice, her movements, etc...that's not on accident. That is very deliberate, to lure you into a more accepting/non-critical mindset (tarot card reader also mentioned she was an actress, and knows how to control her voice). Also, the tarot lady really pushed her "program," and the fact that the entire reading was about how "these things could happen if you do this and that" means it's entirely a sell. Would have been nice if things like this were pointed out. Otherwise, i enjoyed listening and thinking about these things for myself.

Love this! Even if you don't believe in psychics or tarot, the real take away from a reading is forcing yourself to take some time to focus on where you are in life, how you got there, where you're going, and also possibly look at things from a different point of view than you normally would. I wish there were more episodes!

I'm bummed that there are so many short-run podcasts with potential like this on Howl. Miniseries are fine but it seems like there are a lot of great ideas that never really got fleshed out. I think there's plenty of critical/skeptical information out there on this kind of stuff for people who want it - I appreciated hearing Lauren's candid experience from the perspective of someone who wants to believe in this stuff. I'm a natural skeptic, but I find psychic-adjacent things interesting and appreciated hearing about it in this context.
